Dear Brother,
I know it hurts right now. I know that it feels like every breath is hard work, but you’re strong, the spark inside you has not gone out – no one has the power to do that to you, you need to remember that. I know that at the moment you may be hurting and that you may be feeling low. Usually, you are the person that helps me get through a bad day and now that you are going through a tough time. It hurts me to see you this upset. If there's one piece of advice I could offer you from what I've learned in life, it's that it always gets better. Right now it may seem like a never-ending cycle of bad news, bad days, and constantly feeling overwhelmed. Just remember that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel and everything will be just fine.
When you have bad days that just won't let up, I just hope that you will look in the mirror and remind yourself what you are and what you are not. You are not your mistakes. You are not damaged goods. You are not the opinion of someone who doesn't know you. You are a product of the lessons that you've learned. You are wiser because you went through something terrible. And, you are the person who survived a bunch of rainstorms and kept walking.

You are a wonder. I have seen you accomplish, fail, love, lose, sing, cry and laugh at your worst and at your best. You work hard for everything in your life and continue to strive for more. You're also the one that I can slack off with, goofing around as if nothing else in the world matters at the time but the sound of our laughter. You continue to amaze me and one day you're going to surprise yourself, even if it's not right now. I couldn't be more proud of the person you are and how you carry yourself. Your dedication and strength are inspiring, and you are going to have everything you want in life. Keep reaching and never change.
I believe that God is testing your strength because he knows you have the power to withstand anything. And with the power of God and those who you surround yourself with, I know you can overcome this. I believe in you.
You are strong. You are loving. You are loved. You are kind. You are ever important. You are mentally strong. You are faithful. You are giving. You are a dreamer. You are a doer. You are encouraging. You are sweet. You have people behind you who want only the best for you. You are funny. Your happiness is contagious. You are spirited. You are joyful. You are more than the actions of others. You are your awe-inspiring. You are more than these tough times.
Don’t lose faith. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.
I think it’s important you know you are precious. A precious gem in the world. There will never be a gem like you. Unique in the history of existence.
I want you to remember, always, that you are worthy. You are worthy of good and happy things. Worthy of the wonderful moments you have not experienced yet. Worthy of life. It scares me. It scares me because that point can be very easily reached. I am only a phone call away. Whether at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. I will answer that call and come running.
